Shinjuku Marui Honkan 8F (新宿マルイ本館8階店)

Cherry and Custard Muffin

This is the box for the Book for Two program.

This is the fourth year that Starbucks Japan has
run this Book for Two program
in support of the Japan Braille Library.
(you can read an article about them here.)

Starbucks is asking people to donate
used books and magazines to the stores.

These books/magazines will be valued/sold
and the money that is raised will then go
towards the Japan Braille Library in support of
their efforts in producing audiobooks.

So if you're getting around to cleaning out the house
to welcome the new year and you find
some books laying around you no longer need,
take it with you the next time you go to Starbucks
and help support the Book for Two program.

All you have to do is fill in this sign up sheet
stick it in one of your books and
put them box in the box.

The program lasts until December 25 :)

  1. That "Book for Two" program is such a great idea! There must be a non-profit that Starbucks is partnering with? Who actually sells the books? I looked at the website (and I can't read it obviously) but I get the gist that the donations are from 12/5 through 12/25/2012 - I hope it's a successful year of donations and fundraising for the Japan Braille Library!

    1. Hi Melody! Thanks for the comment! Starbucks Japan is partnering with Bookoff Co Ltd, which is a huge used-book (and other things like dvds, etc) franchise store here in Japan. And you're right, Starbucks has been collecting books from Dec 5th! I finally took my books in today. It's a great program :)

  2. Hi Kaori!

I really like both the 2F and 8F stores there! There's a SSV named Oomiya (大宮)who helped my friends and I in November; if you happen to see him, please give him my regards!

Have a great Christmas and hope to see you there in April!
