Tokorozawa Station Bldg (所沢ステーションビル店)

This is the newly renovated Starbucks store in Tokorozawa.

The whole station and station building was
under construction for over a year now
and the last time I was here
it was still a makeshift store just down the street.

But the new store is really spacious and pretty!

There were a lot of different sitting areas.

I really loved it because
it gave a sense of coziness to
wherever corner you were in.

Koshigaya AEON Lake Town mori GardenWalk (越谷イオンレイクタウン mori ガーデンウォーク店)

This Starbucks is located on the mall grounds.
This mall is apparently Japan's largest eco-friendly shopping center.
(Not really sure how many eco-friendly shopping centers we actually have in Japan.)

But it's a really nice Starbucks store
with a terrace along the small garden and pond.

This Starbucks store was celebrating their 3rd year anniversary.
They were offering free chocolate chips in your frappuccino.

Isn't the terrace area nice?
It was a nice and relaxing corner of the mall...
especially when you want a break from all that shopping!

Hanyu Parking Area (羽生パーキングエリア(下り線)店)

This is the Starbucks store at a rest area on the Tohoku Expressway.

I'm not sure what rest areas on freeways in other counties are like,
but the ones in Japan have more than just bathroom facilities.
Large places have restaurants, souvenier corners,
and lots of shops selling local products.

And we also have Starbucks.
I think there are about 35 stores in all
scattered over various expressways in Japan.

All stores continue to gather donations
for the people affected by the 3.11 quake/tsunami.

It's a great place to rest before you continue your journey.
Especially if you're driving for hours on end.

Tokorozawa Station Bldg (所沢ステーションビル店)

Sachertorte
(Starbucks Japan recommends this as a food pairing for Caffe Verona)

Sooo good!!!

The store was really crowded.
This is actually just a makeshift store.
Tokorozawa Stn is undergoing major renovations so
the store will be here until the construction is complete in 2012.

This is the signboard outside saying that
they will wrap any merchandise for Valentine's Day!

Also here:

Sakura Latte (さくらラテ)

I was at my local Starbucks when a barista came around
to give us samples of the new spring drink.
Sakura Latte.
(i.e. cherry blossom latte)

Sakura Latte is part of Starbucks Japan's
2011 Sakura Series,
which starts on February 15.

The barista asked us to write our opinion of the drink
on a small sakura petal-shaped paper.
(wonder what their going to do with it...)

Sometimes I wish I had better handwriting.
