Keio University Hospital (慶應義塾大学病院店)

Would you ever guess this is a Starbucks at a hospital?

Keio University Hospital is a very large and famous hospital
with many buildings for various research departments here.
This Starbucks store is in an independent building
but located within the hospital premises.

There wasn't much space inside the store.
But what was interesting is that there is a screen on the wall.

Usually when you get a numbered ticket at the reception
you have to wait there until your number is called.
But with the screen here also displaying the ticket numbers,
you can wait at Starbucks and enjoying a cup of coffee!

There are also seats outside.

Sakura Cheesecake
(wanted to eat it one last time before the summer promo started)

Iced Chai Tea Latte

Just as I was about to leave
a cherry blossom petal dropped on my table.

  1. Nice one!
My regular Starbucks on campus is also in the hospital (阪大病院). The building is not as nice, but the staff is very friendly so I don't mind.

  2. Hi Dimitri! Thanks for commenting! This was my first time at a Starbucks inside hospital grounds, but there seems to be quite a lot of them! Very cool how your regular Starbucks is one of the hospital affiliated stores!

  3. This very cool. Starbucks has a beautiful big company-operated Starbucks store inside Children's Hospital in Seattle. The doctors and nurses probably love these stores. I love the photos. You got a cherry blossom to go with your Sakura cheesecake. Thanks Kaori! Hope to see you around online.

  4. Melody, thanks for commenting! I remember the blog post you did on the Children's Hospital Starbucks store! I thought it was a great place to get away from the "hospital" enviroment, especially if you work or are hospitalized there. Even though this store was outside the actual hospital building, a lot of people seemed to be enjoying the outdoor area with their Starbucks drinks, even while dragging their IV's around :-)
